Two main areas will be addressed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of grading student responses using Pear assessments. Alternate Answers with Varied Point Values: The first focus will be on using alternate point values for alternate answers, allowing for automatic partial credit based on specific responses. Most examples will cover math and science short answer, numerical, expression, and equation entry problems. Additionally, we will demonstrate how this technique can be applied to question types used across all disciplines, such as multiple select, drag-and-drop, sorting, and matching questions. Rubrics for Grading: Attendees will practice creating both general and specific rubrics to streamline the grading of open-response questions. These rubrics can be applied to open-response questions across all disciplines to enhance consistency and efficiency in grading.
