This session will provide teachers with a framework to deliver good news and especially the bad or tough news in a way that the parent leaves the conversation knowing we care for their student and have a plan to help them. Two main areas will be addressed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of grading student responses using Pear assessments. Alternate Answers with Varied Point Values: The first focus will be on using alternate point values for alternate answers, allowing for automatic partial credit based on specific responses. Most examples will cover math and science short answer, numerical, expression, and equation entry problems. Additionally, we will demonstrate how this technique can be applied to question types used across all disciplines, such as multiple select, drag-and-drop, sorting, and matching questions. Rubrics for Grading: Attendees will practice creating both general and specific rubrics to streamline the grading of open-response questions. These rubrics can be applied to open-response questions across all disciplines to enhance consistency and efficiency in grading.

These live pages can be sent to parents, students, or linked on a platform like Schoology. I will show you how to take the code into Schoology. It sounds complicated, but it is just a few clicks! This is a fun and exciting way to increase your digital use in your classroom. These can also be used to create engaging and aesthetically pleasing visuals for parents as well.
