Reminders (and some new things) to help teachers to stock their management toolbelts. Our wording, facial expressions, and personal affect are as important as environment, procedures, and behavioral practices for creating a space to connect with kids and maximize instruction. We will mesh these together with humor and practical examples that can be used immediately in August.
This course provides information on the co-teaching models and the success criteria for co-teaching pairs. This informational session will give insight into planning, teaching, and assessing the same group of students. The co-teaching design fosters a collaborative relationship between co-teachers to meet the needs of all learners.
Please bring a book or required curriculum, essential standard and learning ladder associated with that standard. We will start by comparing the Standard and Ladder then move to tying the book or curriculum to the learning ladder. Finally we will discuss how to analyze assessments using the learning ladders. Samples of each will be provided if you are unable to access these materials.
This session is designed to help established co-teachers refine their craft. This session helps optimize co-teaching partnerships and communication as well as address common issues that arise in a co-taught classroom.
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our educational tools and practices, we are excited to offer a professional development session focused on Schoology, our Learning Management System (LMS) of choice. Participants will explore the platform and discuss best practices for differentiation, encouraging student participation, and maximizing student engagement. The session will focus on navigation, function, and platform essentials. Participants will explore the grade book feature and feedback tools if time allows. Time will be set aside for a Q&A session and one-on-one assistance.
In this session, we’ll explore how speech therapy services can impact students academic performance, social interactions, and emotional well-being. Teachers will learn to identify speech and language challenges in students, understand the long-term effects of missed or delayed services, and gain practical strategies to support students with communication difficulties in the classroom.
Teachers will learn the following components of Schoology: change basic settings (course image, teacher profile options, etc.), set up and sync a grade book, create different types of assignments, assessments, discussion posts, links, etc., effectively organize folders within Schoology, create agendas that can be accessed by students and parents, send announcements and messages within the platform, mark assignments as late, missing, exempt, etc., and review assignment/assessment data.
